Happy Halloween

Brynlee loved Halloween to say the least!  She had such a cute outfit to wear to daycare yesterday (thanks to Judy!) but she wasn’t having any pictures!  Every time I said say cheese she would lay her head down, smile and laugh.  Oh well!   You still get the picture.

We decided to go do a little Trick or Treating at the church with Gunnar, Mattie, and Aubrey.  Brynlee loves her friends from daycare.  Our church did a Fall Carnival.  I was a little worried about what Brynlee would be able to do but she had so much fun.

She loved playing in the bouncer and was upset when we tried to get her out.  She also really liked the treasure chest filled with rice and candy.  I’m not sure if she was more intrigued with the candy or all the rice to play in.  Brynlee was so funny… she needed to hold her pumpkin bucket all by herself.  Every few minutes it would get to heavy and her bucket and candy would drop and go all over the place.  She would laugh and laugh.

By the end of the night there were several kids that go to Mrs. Emily’s house so of course we needed a picture of everyone together.  We are really excited about Halloween next year because we know Brynlee will be even more excited about candy and the bounce house than she was this year!

Happy 12 Months!

Happy first birthday Brynlee!  We are so blessed and lucky to be your parents!  The past twelve months have been more amazing than words can describe.  Each and everyday you amaze us with the things you are learning to do and the things you are starting to say.  We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

You have such a fun and sweet personality.  You are always smiling no matter what.  Everyone seems to compliment that quality about you saying you are always so happy.  We are very lucky for that.

We are so excited to see what the future holds for you and are so thankful that God chose us to be your parents!

Back to the Blog

It has been a while since there has been a post.  We battled a “cough” for about two weeks.  I’m definitely glad that we are all feeling better.  It seems as though I have been going non-stop at school and haven’t had time to think.  Being in a new grade level is wonderful but I’m having to learn lots of new stuff.   Each week I feel a little more prepared to tackle the next week.  Soon I will feel like an old pro… at least that’s what I’m hoping for.

We have had lots of wonderful family time with our little family.  Brynlee has become quite the ham lately.  She is too funny and we love the little sassy personality that is non-stop laughter and entertainment.  We are only a few days away from her first birthday.  I can’t believe how the past year has flown by.  We are so lucky that God picked us to be Brynlee’s parents.  We could not imagine our lives without her.

Two weekends ago we stopped to visit At’ll Do Farms before the football game.  We had so much fun and it was such a neat little place.  Brynlee enjoyed playing at the farm and of course loved the football game.

We have been blessed with some rain lately, which means our road turns into a fun experience.  I haven’t gotten my car stuck before but my luck ran out two weeks ago.  I was headed home from school and next thing I know I am in the ditch and can’t seem to get out.  Shay has given me quite a hard time about it until Thursday morning.  Karma came around and shared the experience with Shay.  His truck slid into the ditch Thursday morning.  Good thing his sweet wife pulled him out Thursday night!

We are starting to get all of our fall decorations out.  Shay brought home a truckload of pumpkins for my classroom and for me to decorate inside and outside of the house.  I was in Heaven with all the pumpkins.  I have seen so many cute ideas on Pinterest so I am ready to try out all my pumpkin projects!

Back to work we go...

We had a wonderful day off from work Monday.  It was nice to be a little lazy and catch up on some rest.  We went to town and got some paint for our bathroom we are remodeling and stopped by Wal-Mart to print some pictures out for school.  While we were there we picked up some necessities… Dr. Pepper and Water of course!  Brynlee had been trying to climb into the basket so after we checked out I let her ride in the basket on top of the drinks.  She loved it and looked like such a big girl.

I finally took the time to take the last of the pictures of my classroom.  I love how the wall outside my door turned out.  I owe lots of thinks to Christy for helping me finish it!  She was amazing.  The display wall turned out perfect as well.  I made the photo frame to go along with our theme for the district so we could take each child’s picture on the first day of school.  The pictures turned out precious.  I love the idea Kelley gave me for pom poms.  They jazzed up the area around my sink/window.

This weekend we are excited that we will get to see the Baker family and hopefully we will get to meet Mr. Grady as well (Mark and Lydia’s new baby)!  We have a busy weekend planned celebrating Shay’s 30th birthday and getting Brynlee’s pictures taken for her first birthday invitation.  I can’t believe we are already planning a first birthday party!  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Football and Relaxing

I am so excited that it is a holiday weekend.  That means no school tomorrow!  I have enjoyed having kids back in the classroom but a day off is always nice too.  This weekend we drove to Lubbock to watch Tech’s first game.  We were excited but also nervous since Brynlee has become quite the busy body.  Luckily my parents have tickets as well so we were able to shift Brynlee around so she didn’t get bored.  There was so much for her to watch that she was so excited from start to finish of the game.

When we got to the hotel we thought she would crash since she missed her afternoon nap.  It was right in the middle of getting ready and she was too excited about her new tutu to sleep!  We were wrong about the crashing part.  She was still very wound up from the game.  A hot, exhausted, wound up, teething baby is not the best combination in a hotel room when you have no medicine to help the teething.  We tried everything we could think and finally daddy came to the rescue after some very restless attempts at sleeping.  Daddy drove Brynlee around town for 2 hours at 4:45 in the morning and then went to Wal-Mart for some teething medicine.  That was just the trick for her to go back to sleep and for us to get some sleep.

By the end of the game we were hot!
The headband, bow, tutu, shoes, and socks all had to come off so I could get wild and crazy cheering!

We had a super yummy brunch at Blue Mesa Grill and visited with family before heading back home.  Tomorrow we have really big plans of…. Relaxing and hanging out at the house!  Have a wonderful Labor Day Holiday!

Here are some pictures of my classroom.
I love my outside display walls but will have to remember to take pics of those next week!

This past week in photos!

This past week has been a crazy one!  I have started back to work which is definitely an adjustment for all of us.  The biggest adjustment is being in a new classroom and a new grade level which means there is a lot of work to be done before Meet the Teacher night.  Another adjustment is not being home all day to play with my sweet girl.  I have recruited Shay and Brynlee to help me get my room ready for school.  They have been lots of help especially Brynlee....

Brynlee wanted to help organize too!

Besides working in my classroom ALL WEEKEND LONG we have managed a little play time and some cooking (last week)!  Only one more week and school officially starts which will mean even more fun.  I am excited for what is to come.

I can't believe that in less than two months this sweet girl will be a year old.  It is crazy how time flies and we are enjoying each and every day that we are blessed with this amazing little girl.

Shay wanted chili rellenos for dinner the other night since we bought some green chilies while we were in New Mexico.  I was a little nervous since I have never made them at home but they turned out yummy.  Shay has already bought more so we can make them again!

The saying goes the bigger the bow the better the mamma... I'm going to assume that goes for flowers as well!

Brynlee loves to close her eyes now when she smiles.... so precious!

Yummy toast along with some giggling is good for the soul!

After Meet the Teacher (which means my classroom has to be complete) and school starts I should be back to not living at the school which means more regular updates of our sweet girl!

Happy 10 Months Sweet Girl!

Brynlee you are 10 months old!  Your personality is really starting to shine through.  You are a combination of a little sass and whole lot of sweetness.  We love everything about you and have been well entertained here lately.  You are too funny!  You have 4 teeth that are all the way in and two breaking in (still!).  You wear mostly 9 months clothes and some 12 months clothes.  We bought your first pair of big girl shoes this weekend while we were in Albuquerque.  You wear a size 3 shoe now.  You are still in size 3 diapers.

We are having to constantly “baby proof” the house.  Every time that we think that we have it all done she finds something new.  There is nowhere in the house Miss B can’t be in about 2 seconds flat.  You go from one room to the next in no time.  Your favorite room in the house is the bathroom though because you can turn the water on and play with all mommy’s stuff in the bathroom.  You are a superstar crawler and can crawl up on your knees as well as belly crawl.  You are starting to take steps but do not want to give up the walker, the couch, the chair, or anything you can keep your hand on.  Your favorite word is still Da-Da but I know you can say Ma-Ma when you want.

This past week you went on your first family vacation that wasn’t to Texas or Kansas.  We went all over New Mexico and had so much fun.  It is hard to believe that in only 2 short months you will be ONE YEAR OLD!
