The last day of our trip we went to see the Seale's new house, ride around on their Ranger, went to the Buckhorn Saloon and did a little shopping at the outlet malls.

We're Back...

Hello!  It has been a while since we have posted but we have been on a fun adventure.  Last Tuesday we went to Lubbock so that I could take my principal certification test…  which I passed!  After my test Wednesday Brynlee and I drove to Midland.  Brynlee was able to play with her cousins Jayden and Wyatt.

Before we left for San Antonio Brynlee got her first hair trim.  Amanda did a wonderful job especially since Brynlee was jumping around the whole time!

Brynlee and I went on a weekend get away with the grandparents.  We were headed for San Antonio but Brynlee had other plans!  We stopped in Kerrville for a night because Brynlee was done riding in her car seat.  We stayed at the YO Ranch Resort & Hotel and it was gorgeous.

Father's Day Weekend

Happy Father’s Day Shay!  We have had a wonderful first father’s day weekend.  It has been an interesting weekend to say the least.  Saturday morning I went into Brynlee’s room to find her standing up on the side of her crib trying to touch her rocking horse and zebra next to her bed.  SCARY!  She has started pulling up on things and has no fear of anything.  That evening we started to mow the forest growing around our house because we have been blessed with quite a bit of rain.  We mowed part of it and took a quick break because dinner was ready.  After dinner we came back outside to find a storm had moved in and there would be no more mowing…. Oh darn except we still have a forest outside!  

On Father’s Day we went to church and then just pulled through for lunch since I was making a big dinner per Shay’s request.  They messed up our order at the drive thru and sent out twice as much food as we ordered.  We came home took a nap and then made cookies for daddy.  Later that evening Brynlee and I made daddy’s favorite meal… chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and broccoli cheese casserole.  It was yummy.

As I was posting this blog our "future little blogger" decided she needed to blog too!  We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Father’s Day.

Happy 8 Months

Brynlee you are 8 months old today!  You weigh 16.8 pounds and are 27 inches long.  You have 2 teeth but have been working on more the last couple of days.  You wear sizes 6-9 months clothes and a few 9-12 month outfits.  You wear a size 1 shoe.  You are still wearing size 3 diapers.  You are a full time army-crawler now and you move fast!  You want to be wherever we are in the house.  You are into everything. You love to play in the laundry especially unfolding, rearranging the piles, and playing with the hangers.  You are a wonderful sleeper most nights. You take pretty good naps most days.  You are a great eater. You love yogurt melts, puffs, lil crunchies, crackers, baby food (bananas, sweet potatoes, apple sauce and anything mixed into the apple sauce, and carrots). You get so excited to eat anything and everything.  You are getting to where you want to eat your food and whatever is on mommy and daddy’s plate! J  You have become quite the talker!  Daddy says you get that from me!  You say "dada", "papa", "daddy" and "hi".  You love to play outside on your swing and help daddy water the garden.  You love to go swimming and have such a blast in the water whether it is the pool or the bathtub!  You really are so sweet and we adore everything about you.  You love to cuddle and give kisses.  We are so thankful each and everyday that God blessed us with being your parents!

Welcome to our blog...

Welcome to the Smith family blog.  We have started this blog because we want to be able to share all of our fun adventures with our family and friends.  This weekend we came to Kansas for Tyler’s (Shay’s friend/my cousin’s husband) annual cattle branding at his family’s ranch.  This is a special weekend for Shay and I since it’s where everything started for us.  We had met several times before but sparks flew the weekend of the branding five years ago.  It has been pure bliss ever since!  We hope you enjoy all of our photos from the weekend!
