Fun in Kansas

We had such a fun weekend in Kansas visiting the Bakers.  This was a last minute trip for Brynlee and I since when we went to town Wednesday afternoon we were headed to do a little swimming, go to a baby shower, and shop for things for my classroom.  Kelley called and asked if we wanted to ride along with everyone going to Kansas and since Brynlee and I didn’t have plans we jumped in the car on Thursday to head to Kansas.

Wednesday we went swimming at the Weinheimer house.  We had a blast and enjoyed some really yummy watermelon popsicles.  Brynlee is quite the water bug and is game for swimming any time of the day!  Thursday before we got on the road we had to do a little shopping for my classroom.  We had to get up early to hit the sales.  I told Brynlee we were just getting in practice for Black Friday!  Thursday when we got to Kansas we went to the fair.  We ate BBQ, watched the kids rodeo where Samuel and Keeler competed, watched a little of the tractor pull, and ate more yummy food.  Brynlee loves funnel cakes.

Saturday we enjoyed hanging out and playing around the house.  Kallahan and Brynlee have so much fun playing together.  They are at such a fun age and love doing things together.  Brynlee’s favorite thing to do is take Kallahan’s pacifier out of his mouth so he can talk to her.  They played together all weekend so well.  Saturday evening we went to the rodeo and Brynlee loved it.  She yelled and danced when they turned the music up for the bull riding.  Brynlee has a love for animals and loved seeing all the horses and cows at the rodeo.

Sunday we headed back home and Brynlee was able to see her Daddy.  They have such a special bond together and she was so excited to see him.  She is a Daddy’s girl!  When we got to the house Brynlee crawled around playing with all her toys until she found her singing dog.  She just lay there hugging her dog and laughing.  We had a great trip but we were definitely ready to see Daddy!

9 Months!

9 Months Old
Weight: 17 lbs. 13 oz. (50th Percentile)
Height: 29 inches (90-95th Percentile)

Brynlee you are 9 months old today!  You weigh 17 pounds 13 ounces and are 29 inches long.  You have 3 teeth that have come in all the way and three more that are breaking through.  When those break through you will have 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom! You wear sizes 9 months clothes and a few 12 months outfits.  You wear a size 2 shoe some days if they don’t fall off!  You are still wearing size 3 diapers.  You are a speedster when it comes to crawling!  You are pulling up on anything and everything.  You love to hold mommy and daddy’s hand and walk all over. You have a new love of playing in the bathroom.  If I find that you have crawled off the first place I check is the bathroom and you are normally standing on the side of the tub trying to figure out how to crawl into the tub.  You love to take baths and play in water especially in our swimming pool.  You are a wonderful sleeper most night. You take pretty good naps most days.  You love to eat. You are starting to try lots of new things because you only want to eat whatever mommy and daddy are eating.  Needless to say we haven’t found anything that you do not love except for any form of mashed potatoes. You talk all the time!  You can say "dada", "papa", "daddy", “momma”, and "hi".  Your favorite word though is still daddy!  You love to play outside on your swing and help daddy water the garden.  You have the best personality and everyone falls in love with you the moment they meet you.  We have had the best 9 months with you and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Happy 9 months!

Such a big girl!  You love playing with your walker!

Love this sweet girl.

Today we went to see the ducks before Brynlee's doctor appointment.  She loved the ducks.  She was so excited that she yelled and screamed as the ducks came close.

Here is our new mailbox.  As you can see the one that was there when we moved in needed to retire!  The mailman will not know what to do tomorrow when the old one is gone.

On The Go

We have been on the go since the Fourth of July!  We had such a great family day celebrating the Fourth of July.  We went to the parade here in town and Brynlee loved most of it.  The fire trucks, ambulances, and motorcycles were a little scary but she loved everything else especially everyone that threw suckers and candy to her!  After the parade we went to Canyon and walked around the square where we ate lots of yummy food from vendors.

I loved my first sucker!
Later in the day we met up with Mark and Lydia and went to a picnic in the subdivision Mark’s mom lives in.  Brynlee had such a blast playing with Mark’s nephew Peyton.  She tried her first dog and she seemed to like it. (Yuck!)  Then we went swimming and had a little ice cream.  We ended the night watching fireworks.

Last Friday we drove to Midland to attend Summer Mummers.  For those of you who have never been it is so much fun.  You watch a melodrama and cheer for the hero and boo the villain.  The most important thing that you do at Summer Mummers is throw popcorn and have a blast.  We have made it an annual thing and can’t wait to do it again next year.

Summer Mummers 2012
Sunday and Monday we watched my cousin Zane play baseball in the state baseball tournament.  They were so much fun to watch play even in the rain!  Monday afternoon we played at Jump-N-Jive before heading to the game.

Brynlee loved her first Twizzler just like her daddy!
Brynlee has her 9 month appointment this week so we are excited to see how she is growing.  Each and every day she amazes us with what she learns to do.  We are so blessed to be her parents!

New Shoes

I just had to post about my "Nap Time" craft project from today.  Each day when Brynlee is taking her nap I try to work on one of the million craft projects I have always wanted to do along with clean the house, do a little laundry, figure out something for dinner, catch up on TV, and a million other things as they come up.  I have really enjoyed taking a few minutes to play in all of my craft stuff.  Shay is glad to see all the money buying the stuff being put to good use finally!  Today I worked on some shoes for Brynlee and a new mailbox.  We have had a hard time finding shoes that actually fit Brynlee's feet.  For the longest time she could barely wear newborn size shoes.  Today marked a milestone we bought some cheap SIZE 2 boating shoes at Wal Mart and I got to "blinging" on the shoes.  I also am redecorating a new mailbox for our house but will post pics of that later when I am finished!

I love how the shoes turned out and I can't wait for her to wear them tomorrow!

Yesterday we went to Claude to have lunch with my aunt, my cousin and her kids.  Brynlee loves all of the kids and has so much fun swimming and playing with them.  After a little lunch at Dairy Queen we went for a swim.  Brynlee is quite the fish and loves to swim for hours.

Some old pictures but some cute ones too!

Brynlee called daddy today to see if he was available for lunch... he was and she was so excited!

Our Weekend

We had a good weekend not doing a lot of anything.  Friday evening we hung out around the house.  Saturday we went to help Shay’s mom move everything from her house into a storage building because she sold her house.  It was HOT, HOT, HOT!  Brynlee and I took her first 4-Wheeler ride.  She loved it and got so excited as we drove around. After lunch Brynlee and I grounded ourselves to his aunt’s house for naptime.  We both took a wonderful afternoon nap.  When Shay came back we stopped by our home away from home…. Lowes for some more cement board for the bathroom.  We ran some more errands and then had some pizza with all of Shay’s family.  Brynlee was exhausted so we headed home.  She was asleep before we even got out of the driveway.  As soon as we got home Brynlee was wide-awake and her teeth were bothering her.  She now has 5 teeth that we know of but she loves to “bite” you as you try to feel for them.  Today we had plans to get up and go to church but Shay couldn’t walk on his feet.  His gout was in overdrive today and his feet were so swollen he couldn’t even stand up.  After I made cinnamon roll cake for breakfast Brynlee and Shay decided it was nap time.   Since Brynleee didn’t sleep much last night I had plenty of time to work on projects while they both took a really long nap.  I have been wanting to paint a mirror and table in our dining room.  I repainted and glazed them.  Then I worked on rearranging our dining room.  We finally got the table put in that I had been wanting…  Shay’s great grandmother's table.  I love it and can’t wait for our new table cloth to come in for it.  After lunch we attempted swimming but decided the water was too cold from all the rain we got last night.  Shay and Brynlee put together her Santa gift from Christmas.  The rest of the afternoon Brynlee spent playing, talking, standing, playing, yelling, and playing.  She went to bed early which gave me an opportunity to write about the weekend!

Shay was able to get a picture of the lightning before it started pouring rain at our house last night.  We are always thankful for the rain.

Shays Father's Day gift arrived two days after Father's Day so I had to post a picture from that!  We made him a photo book for his office of pictures of him and Brynlee.

Brynlee loved her first 4 Wheeler ride.

1. Brynlee loved the spaghetti, green beans, and garlic bread for lunch.
2. Yummy Cinnamon Roll cake for breakfast.
3. The "Mess Pot" in action!  She is climbing in and on everything especially in between the table and the couch.
1. Her favorite thing to do is stand while she is playing.
2. Trying to decide if the water is to cold or not... verdict YES!
3. Helping daddy put screws in my gift from "Santa."

Here are the before and after pictures of the mirror and table I painted and glazed today.

Here are some other pictures from our dining room.  I am ready to have our new tablecloth in to put replace the lace ones.  This wagon sits against one of the walls in our dining room.
